- Some vocal celebrity supporters of Rodrigo Duterte have been given government positions by the president himself
- Action star Cesar Montano has been appointed as the chief operating officer of the Tourism Promotions Board
- His position is still under the Department of Tourism, where he is tasked to spearhead local and international promotions for the agency
Celebrity supporters of President Rodrigo Duterte are a lucky bunch - they get appointed to government positions other people would have dreamt of having.
Joining the likes of Aiza Seguerra, Liza Diño, Arnell Ignacio, Jimmy Bondoc, and other celebrities is Cesar Montano, who has now been appointed as the chief operating officer of the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB).
The action star’s new role will be under the Department of Tourism, where he will be helping the agency to promote the upcoming Miss Universe pageant.
“This will be a learning process for him. He will help us in the holding of Miss Universe,” Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo said, who was also the one who revealed of Cesar’s appointment yesterday.
It is known that the country will be hosting the pageant next year, which will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena on January 30, 2017.
However, his part in the pageant is only a part of his duties as his branch is tasked to lead local and international promotions for the agency.
We hope that Cesar will take on this new path earnestly, proving that his action can go beyond the movies that has made him a household name in the business.
As the pageant looms near, we wait with bated breath on how he will promote it both domestically and internationally.
Miss Universe is the end-all of yearly beauty pageants, which Kylie Verzosa aimed for before becoming the country’s pick for Miss International and eventually claiming the crown.
