Duterte’s son “starstruck” on meeting Miriam Santiago, asks for a picture

Before the heated debate happened last April 24, popular presidential candidate Rodrigo Duterte’s son, Sebastian Duterte shared a photo of him and Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago posing for a picture on his Facebook account.

It might be unorthodox for a son of a presidential candidate to pose with his father’s rival in the presidency, but Sebastian explains how he deeply admires and respects Miriam. Sebastian posted an open letter to Miriam together with their most recent picture on his Facebook account. “Hello Senator MDS. I feel so lucky that i had the chance to have a picture with you. To my surprise, you even went over to me when my friend asked for a photo. I was so captivated by your presence that I did not know what to do. When you grabbed my arm during the picture, my heart just smiled. Memories flashed in my mind of you reprimanding someone in a senate hearing. You are sweet and inspiring. I never easily get starstruck but you had me at mere sight. I truly admire you because I believe that you are a real contributor to our country. We are hours away from the debate and I wish you all the best. P.S. Bring the best out of Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, give him the fight of a lifetime! -Love Baste,” Sebastian captioned the photo.

He even asked an odd request to the senator regarding the presidency, which is for Miriam to challenge his father by giving him “the fight of a lifetime.”

We have seen Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte being a gentleman and a good friend to Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago during the first round of the presidential debate hosted by GMA 7. Now we get to see that Duterte’s son has also inherited the same respect and admiration for Miriam.
