On Friday, Senators Grace Poe and Risa Hontiveros have expressed their displeasure with how the House probe on the proliferation of drugs in the National Bilibid Prison turned out.

According to Poe, in her speech before the members of the Australia-New Zealand Chamber of Commerce present during the breakfast forum on Friday, certain lawmakers have made derogatory remarks that objectified and ridiculed women.

Poe decried the blatant violation of personal affairs of Senator De Lima and tagged most of the questions as voyeuristic.

"A lot of the questions were geared towards voyeurism—national voyeurism as opposed to ‘in aid of legislation.’ And this is quite upsetting," said Poe.

Hontiveros, on the other hand, said that the members of the House have displayed un-parliamentary lynching of De Lima.

"Their derogatory line of questioning did not aim to shed light on the issue of the drug trade in our prisons. They were meant to humiliate and shame Senator De Lima for her association with a certain man, or her past relationship,” said Hontiveros of the Akbayan party.

She tagged the Thursday session of the House as "the lowest of lows" and laments the political shaming and elitism exhibited by the lawmakers "in the ‘honorable’ chambers of Congress.”
