- Police arrested a public school principal on Friday for illegal possession of illegal drugs
- The Mati City principal was first suspended after testing positive in the illegal substance
- Soon after, authorities were able to seize drugs from the suspect's home
According to Davao Oriental police chief Senior Senior Supt. Harry Espela, the suspect was identified as Alexander Flores.
However, the name of the elementary school where the principal works remain undisclosed.
Officials of the Mati police station went to Flores' place to conduct an operation. Around 6am, the team reached Upper Salazar in Barangay Central, the place where Flores' stays.
Judge Emilio Dayanghirang III of 11th Regional Trial Court branch 32 in the town of Lupon issued the search warrant.
The principal was accused of violating the Comprehensive Anti-Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 otherwise known as Republic Act 9165.
Four sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia were found inside the suspect's room.
Reports revealed that the Department of Education (DepEd) has suspended Flores earlier after failing a drug test.
Meanwhile, Espela said that Flores is at Mati City police station for detention.
Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte's battle on drugs won't stop until the illegal substance exists.
