In an interview, the speaker said the senator is impressive in making lies to defend herself from all the allegations on her involvement, which was further affirmed by her former driver and lover Ronnie Dayan.
“At bilib nga din ako kay Sen. De Lima. Talagang magaling siyang magsinungaling. I think she is really a serial liar,” Alvarez said.
(I am impressed by Sen. De Lima. She is really good in lying.)

Alvarez said that all testimonies point to the fact that she benefitted from the drug trade in NBP.
(Because everyone is saying that she is connected to it, that money was delivered to her, and now she is denying it- unbelievable.)
Alvarez further pointed out that the testimonies of Dayan and Espinosa corroborate each other.
De Lima strongly denies the allegations against her and says that the allies of the President, including Duterte himself, are trying to oust her from the government because she fought against Duterte.
Although De Lima admitted her relationship with Dayan, she said that both of them were separated from their marriages at that time.
