New mom Mariel Rodriguez posted a photo of her and Robin Padilla’s daughter Maria Isabella on Instagram to greet Robin on his 47th birthday.
Maria Isabella was born on November 14 was clad in pink, fleece blanket while sound asleep. In the caption, Rodriguez wrote: "dearest Daddy @robinhoodpadilla Happy happy birthday i can't wait to meet you dad!!! Mom says all these wonderful things about you... how much of a hero you truly are, how generous, kind, loving and compassionate you are. if i inherit a few of your traits that already makes me one blessed girl. i promise to make you proud dad (mom will make sure that happens ) i wish you the best of health so we can play and so that you can guide me in life. it is my honor to be raised by you. i love you dad happy birthday love, Maria Isabella De Padilla."
Robin missed the birth of his daughter as his US Visa was constantly denied by the embassy due to his previous criminal records. The actor was convicted in 1994 for illegal possession of firearms.
However, the battle is still not over for the actor. After seeking absolute pardon from the president to clear his name of any criminal record, the actor applied again for a US Visa. During Erap’s term, he was give conditional pardon.
Robin has been on a quest seeking approval to travel to US to be beside his pregnant wife Mariel as the baby is due soon. However, it seemed that the actor is having difficulty getting a US visa that will allow him to enter the states probably because of his previous records. The actor even went as far as seeking the help of his friends and colleagues for recommendation for his application.
Mariel, on the other hand, chose to give birth in the US to ensure safe delivery of the child for she has suffered miscarriages before.
