- Jodi Sta. Maria has been in New York for the 44th International Emmys
- The 'Pangako Sa'yo' actress failed to win the Best Actress Award
- Kapamilya telenovela 'Bridges of Love' also did not win this year's Best Telenovela
Despite the hype that surrounded Jodi's presence at the 44th International Emmys, it has lived down now that the awards have been finally given.
The Kapamilya actress failed to snatch the Best Actress Award for her superb portrayal of Amor Powers in the 2015 remake of 'Pangako Sa'yo'.
The award was given to Christiane Paul from Germany, who portrayed Elke Seeberg in 'Unterm Radar'.
Aside from Jodi's exceptional acting, another Kapamilya show was nominated in the competition.
'Bridges of Love', which starred Jericho Rosales, Maja Salvador, and Paulo Avelino, was chosen as one of this year's picks as Best Telenovela.
However, the show was beaten by Brazilian telenovela 'Verdades Secretas' (Hidden Secrets).
Even if Jodi was not able to bring home the bacon for our country, she is still glad that her efforts has been recognized internationally.
It has always been a dream of hers to be acknowledged for her talent and just competing in the Best Actress category is a huge honor for her.
"Sobrang naiyak na lang talaga ako. Hindi ko na ito inisip eh. Ma-recognize ka nga lang dito sa Philippines, enough na nga iyon. Pero para maisama pa abroad, tapos Emmys pa, parang, 'Huh? Totoo ba ito?' Sobrang sobrang sobra na," she shared.
(I really cried about it. I was not even thinking bout it To be recognized in the Philippines is already enough. But to be recognized abroad, especially in the Emmys, it's like 'Huh? Is this for real?' This is just too much.)
We are still proud of Jodi for her accomplishments and she will always be a winner in our eyes.
Although she is known for her acting, will doing any one of these weird talents nab her that coveted Emmy? You be the judge.
