It is believed by a lot of people that true love will always prevail. You are supposed to have faith that just because it is not happening today does not mean it will never happen. What is meant to be will be despite indications of the contrary. This couple’s wonderful story proves just that.
65 years ago, David Moakes and Helen Andre fell in love and he asked for her hand in marriage. Her parents refused to accept as they did not want her to get married to an artist. This forced them to separate and ended their relationship.
Time went by and both went on to marry others. After both their partners died, they reconnected and got married on November 11.

Davy said their love has always been strong and when they reconnected, they decided to get married due to their age.
They got back in touch after their years of separation when Helen found a sculpture by Davy’s son Adrian, 57, in the village where they’d first met. When Helen did find him, he was married. His wife passed away 18 months ago and Helen and Davy realised they still had strong feelings for one another.
“I feel like a teenager again, it really is like nothing’s changed,” Helen said.
Such a wonderful story of love prevailing against the odds.
