Brand new choppers of the Philippine Air Force were utilized to transport the body of the dictator, Ferdinand Marcos from Ilocos Norte to the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
The private burial surprised the entire nation, causing widespread protest all over the Philippines. People took to the streets to express their dismay while there were those who vented out their frustration on social media.

According to Brigadier General Restituto Padilla, the Marcoses shouldered the cost of the transportation used.
Two Bell 412 choppers were used for the transport. One carried the wooden coffin, while the other served as the escort.
The brand new choppers were recently purchased by the Aquino administration for the use of the Philippine Air Force for rescue and other legitimate military operations.
According to Padilla, higher authorities gave the go signal for using the choppers. He said that it could either be the President of the Department of National Defense.
Subsequent to the General’s statement, Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenza denied any knowledge about the surprise burial of the dictator at LNMB on November 18.
Reports have it that the President knew of the surprise Marcos’ burial.
This scandal is akin to scandals of celebrities in Nigeria.
