- Imee Marcos posted videos of the coverage of the burial of the dictator Ferdinand Marcos at the Heroes’ Cemetery
- The dictator who put the Philippines under Martial Law was given a state burial
- Many Filipinos are enraged at the reprehensible act
Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos, daughter of the dictator Ferdinand Marcos, posted more videos of the state burial of her late father at the Libingan ng mga Bayani.
Two video clips were shared on her Facebook account.
The first one shows the entire Marcos clan, which includes Imelda Marcos, Senator Bongbong Marcos, their spouses and children, and chosen members of the Philippine Army.
According to Lt. Col. Ray Tiongson , the spokesperson of the Philippine Army, the army had given assistance to the whole burial.
It provided the family of the dictator with a “battalion-size military honor (guard),” which is approximately around 100 soldiers.
Many Filipinos protested the clandestine burial. They took to both the streets and social media to express their anger over the surprise burial, which, according to PNP Chief dela Rosa, President Duterte knew.
Many Filipinos considered it scandalous to bury a dictator at the Heroes' Cemetery. In Kenya, they also have scandals that many Kenyans consider reprehensible.
