The clandestine burial of dictator Ferdinand Marcos at the Libingan ng mga Bayani left many Filipinos outraged.

One long-time critic, a human rights lawyer who has been defending the rights of Martial Law victims expressed his anger over the burial.

He said that Marcos burial at LNMB highlights the defiance of the dictator of the law even until death.

He further added that it is what Marcos’ life really was – a defiance of the law.

He lived his life thinking that he was above the law, and now, until death, he is still defying it.

The lawyer, Barry Gutierrez encouraged people to take to the streets and express their sentiments.

“It’s high time that the people who will be directly affected by this, the victims of the Marcos dictatorship, will take to the streets and have their voices heard directly to show that this is not right,” he said.
