- A recent video captured the moment a man attacked an anti-Trump supporter during a protest in Ohio State University
- The man was led away while the crowd shouted “Shame!” at him
- However it has recently been revealed that the attacker was not a Trump supporter but actually suffered from Autism
This video captures the moment an anti-Trump protestor was tackled by a man.
The video was captured in Ohio State University. An anti-Trump protestor student is seen talking to a crowd when another student runs down the stairs and lunges towards the protestor screaming: “You idiot!”
Protestors can be heard chanting “Shame! Shame!” as the attacker is led away by the police, as if in the infamous episode of Game of Thrones.
The video caused outrage across the internet as people thought that the attacker was a radical Trump supporter attacking the First Amendment.
The student has been revealed as Shane Michael Stanton and has been suspended from the University for his actions.
But the truth was revealed that the alleged “Trump supporter” was actually a student that suffered Asperger syndrome, a mental disorder on the autism spectrum.
People who know him have stated that he is not a Trump supporter and that his political views are very liberal.
His reasons for attacking the anti-Trump protester are still unknown. Although some people believe that he actually thought the protestor was a very vocal Trump supporter.
A spokesperson for the university has stated: “We witnessed a disturbing incident at a political demonstration on our campus this afternoon.”
“The safety of our students and freedom of speech are bedrock, immutable principles that are the foundation of our university,” she added.
