Transgender actor Rustom Padilla is now officially named BB Gandanghari after her request for legal identity change was approved by a court in Orange County, Los Angeles, California.

In an Instagram post made by BB Gandanghari on Thursday, November 17, a photo of the exterior of a courthouse in Orange County can be seen along with her declaration of happiness and gratitude to the United States.

The post was captioned, "This is it! And I thought this day would never come. And I thank my GOD and my LORD for making these things happen. Everything makes sense now... and to this great country the United States of America for providing this #basicrhumanright... Thank you!!! #officiallyBBlegallyGandanghari."

In August, BB also announced her desire for this change by posting two photos of the documents which indicate the name and gender change request.

BB's coming out of the closet happened while he was a participant of the celebrity edition of the ABS-CBN reality show “Pinoy Big Brother” in 2006.
