A tricycle driver and known drug user from Caloocan City met his tragic end after a team of riding-in-tandem hitmen send him off to afterlife on Tuesday, November 15.
According to reports from Caloocan City Police North Extension Office, the victim identified as Rhodelio Mackay, was killed at around 6 p.m. along St. Peter Street, CBY Barracks, Barangay 168, a few blocks away from his own home.
Statements from witnesses revealed that the tricycle driver had run for his life, buthis struggle had been all for naught when he chanced upon running into a dead-end, where he was cornered and eventually killed.
The victim was declared dead on the spot.
A statement from the victim's father confirmed that Mackay was indeed involved in the illegal drug trade, according to the police.
Extrajudicial killings, just like what happened to Mackay has started to gain the attention of the international community since Rodrigo Duterte assumed the presidency, following his repeated promise to eliminate drugs on the street.
Whatever people do, there will always be something to lament about.
