No team in the history of the NBA has ever lost a series after taking a 3-0 lead in the series. In a game that came down to hitting clutch buckets, the Cavalier’s ability to knock down big 3-pointers late was key to pulling away in the 4 quarter. Kyrie Irving and J.R Smith hit those timely buckets to contribute to the game 3 win. The Cleveland backcourt went off for 35 points and 7 assists. LeBron James was spectacular in this game with an amazing stat line of 20 points, 7 assists, 13 rebounds, and 1 block. A perfect response to the physicality being enforced on him by Detroit.  Kevin Love, the final piece of the big 3, had a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. This is the 10 occasion wherein a team led by LeBron James has taken a commanding 3-0 series lead in the 1 round. The previous 9 occasions had his team sweep the series 7 times, and the other 2 ending in 5 games. Caldwell-Pope led the way for Detroit with 18 points while fellow Piston Andre Drummond pitched in 17 points with 7 rebounds.

With the cheer and support of the crowd, the Boston Celtics were able to protect home court and take game 3. Isiah Thomas was instrumental to the victory of the Celtics as he scored 16 points in the first half alone. His scoring output in the first half was equal to his entire scoring effort in game 2. Boston lead by as much as 20 points entering the 2 half. Thomas finished the game with 42 points, nailing 5 trifectas, one of which coming with just 1:48 left in the game to cushion Boston’s lead. He also got a late steal to seal it for the Celtics. Jeff Teague went off for 23 points for the visiting team while fellow Hawk teammates Schroder and Bazemore pitched in 20 points each.

San Antonio Spurs 96-87 Memphis Grizzlies [SAS Lead 3-0]

NBA playoffs day 7: Celtics bounces back

The Memphis Grizzlies only ever led the Spurs twice in this series. The 1 time was when Vince Carter nailed a 3-pointer 120 seconds into game 1 to bring the score to 3-2, and the 2 time came after a Matt Barnes free throw in the 2 quarter to bring the score to 39-38 in favor for the Grizzlies. However, this lead did not last longer than 16 seconds when Kawhi Leonard hit a 3-pointer the following possession to put the Spurs up 41-39. Things never went the Grizzlies way afterwards. Leonard had a beast of a game finishing with 32 points, 7 rebounds, 5 blocks, 4 steals, and 2 assists. Zach Randolph led the way for the Grizzlies with 20 points and 11 rebounds. The Grizzlies look to stave off elimination in game 4 at home on April 25,2016.
