- A king cobra slithered inside a van carrying schoolchildren in Thailand
- The driver stopped the vehicle and evacuated all the students before calling animal rescue workers
- One of the schoolchildren recorded footage of how rescue workers removed the snake from under the vehicle’s hood
A school bus carrying students on a field trip in Thailand had to be stopped because a 3.5 meter long snake crawled inside of it.
A King Cobra slithered into vehicle and hid under the van’s hood. The bus driver stopped the vehicle immediately, evacuated the children and called animals rescue workers.
The 37-year-old van driver admitted that he was never as scared in his life as he had been at the moment the cobra crawled into the vehicle. However he was brave and saved the children and helped the rescue workers in their mission to free the snake from the van.
A student captured video of the driver opening the van’s hood before running away to a safe distance. Rescue workers grab the venomous snake and pull it out, but not before putting a clamp on its mouth.
“I have to admit I was a very afraid when someone told me there was a snake under the bonnet,” the driver admits.
He adds: “I was shocked. It's the first time I've come face to face with a snake like that. I was the first one out of the van and the rest of the students followed me. They found it quite funny though.”
The rescue workers returned the snake back to the wild after it was rescued.
