- She collected her from school and then drove her to a place alongside the road where she slit her throat

- A bystander tried to intervene but unfortunately the little girl did

Her step-mother has been arrested by police after at least one witness saw her attack the child with a knife, slitting her throat next to a high wall and in the sand alongside a road. This happened in broad daylight.

The step-mother used a family ID card to collect Reem from school early, and then drove her to the place of the murder. She had concealed a knife beneath her clothing, it has been reported.

This happened yesterday and no motive nor the name of the woman has been released to the public.

At the scene, what appears to be blood stains are visible on the ground. The young girl is said to have died instantly and no help could have been rendered in time.

After the murder, the step-mother fled into a building nearby but police later apprehended her as she tried to hide.

She is in her 30's and the horrific attack happened at 9am in the morning.
