President Rodrigo Duterte bowed out of Go Negosyo's townhall interview with Queen of all Media Kris Aquino slated for Friday, November 11.
According to the announcement made by the network, TV5, the President has claimed sickness as an excuse to cancel the well-publicized interview.
When the telecast was continued, a representative from the Presidential Communications group announced that the President was sick and will be sending DOLE Secretary Silvestre Bello on his behalf.
In a statement made by TV host Kris Aquino from the stage of Go Negosyo, she had likened the interview to a first date, which according to her, sometimes does not push through.
"Minsan ang mga first date hindi natutuloy," Aquino said and added, "President Duterte give me a chance....Gusto ko rin kayo makilala."
(Sometimes the first date gets aborted. President Duterte give me a chance... I also want to know you.)
She told the public that she had prepared well for the interview and had even gone on a diet for two weeks. She promised to trim her 26-inch waistline down to 25-inches for their next meeting.
"I hope one day mamahalin mo rin ako," she said and promised, "Sisiguraduhin kong maging 25 (inches waistline size) para sa next time na pagkikita natin."
(I hope one day you'll love me too. I'll make sure to be 25 [inches waistline size] for the next time we meet.)
Let us all hope that just like these babies, Lady Luck would smile at Kris Aquino and President Duterte would give her the chance that she is asking for.
