Miss Grand International 2016 first runner-up Nicole Cordoves had received boos when she chose United States president-elect Donald Trump over Hilary Clinton when asked who she wants to help her "stop the war and violence" during the question and answer portion in the Miss Grand International 2016 pageant last month.
The Pinay beauty queen, after her controversial answer during the pageant, aid on Thursday that she would love to work for the US president-elect as his speech writer as it was her previous job for former Finance Secretary Cesar Purisima. She said:
"Hi Donald Trump, please, please hire me as your speech writer. I make good speeches and I will make people like you more."
On the same interview, Cordoves explained her answer during the pageant. According to her, she did not support Trump as a president but rather chose him in the issue about fighting war and violence. She stated: "It was more of looking at it the context of solving war and violence."
When she was asked about her reaction over Trump's win, Cordoves said:
"Well my answer stays the same, it's fighting war and violence still. But you know with Trump, we should try to be optimistic. We shouldn't like, you know, that America is divided between Clinton and Trump. So we shouldn't let that tear us apart. Sana hindi siya magresulta to more war."
Cordoves was crowned as the Miss Grand International 2016 1st runner-up while Indonesia's candidate Ariska Putri Pertiwi won the crown.
