Following the shocking allegation thrown at actor-turned-mayor of Orcmoc Richard Gomez involving him to illegal drug activities, Gomez has quickly broke his silence.
The former hunk star said that he will "not even dignify" the accusation with an answer through a text message sent to ABS-CBN News.
"That is ridiculous and outright laughable. I will not even dignify that with an answer huwag nila akong isama sa circus nila!" the Ormoc mayor stated.
His name was dragged during a Senate inquiry on Thursday, November 11.
Gomez was allegedly one of the high-ranking officials in the province of Leyte who was reportedly part of the notorious "Espinosa Drug Group."
According to Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) provincial officer Leo Laraga, Leyte Governor Leopoldo Dominico Petilla, , former justice Vicente Veloso, ormer justice and now Leyte 3rd District Rep. Vicente Veloso, as well as Baybay City Vice Mayor Michael Cari were among the involved personalities aside from Gomez.
Laraga noted that is was Mayor Espinosa himself who tagged the abovementioned.
"That was the statement of Mayor Espinosa himself. Espinosa said those names during a conference," Laraga explained.
