In an Instagram post, Jake posted a photo of a book entitled “Bayan Ko!” which is about the People Power Revolution. The caption reads, “Body may be buried, but not the truth”.
One of Jake’s followers with username @chie_g commented, “everyone is entitled to his/her opinion and I respect that but it’s just that seeing you post this while hanging out once in a while with sandro marcos in London is kinda off.. just sayin but I still like you though.”
To which Jake replied, “real friendships go beyond politics.”
Photos of the two were on each other’s social media accounts and are evidence of their strong bond and friendship. In May, Jake came to defend his friend against online hate when he made a mistake in voting for two presidents, Jake said in a social media post that Sandro is way better than what social media depicts him to be.
While some people commended the celebrity for standing up for the issue, some netizens then bashed Jake for being fake saying that if he is a good friend of Sandro, he should consider his feelings. After all, it was his grandfather. Others claimed that Jake’s dad, Manila Mayor Joseph Ejercito Estrada, campaigned for Bongbong Marcos last election. Jake joined his dad on his election campaign rallies in different barangays in Manila.
Some mean comments claimed that Jake wanted to be relevant in order to fully penetrate showbiz. Thus, he always tried to seek for the spotlight.
