- Bongbong Marcos lost the vice-presidential race to Liberal Party (LP) bet Leni Robredo
- The former senator announced that his political career will have a resurgence soon, comparing it to the theme of Senator Manny Pacquiao and Jessie Vargas' fight
- The lost vice-presidential bet will be going around the country to personally thank his supporters
Former Senator Bongbong Marcos has not completely pulled off a Douglas McArthur yet, but he will be soon enough.
The defeated vice presidential candidate announced that his political career will have a resurgence when he attended the 80th anniversary of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) yesterday evening.
He even compared his career to the famous sports people Manny Pacquiao and Barangay Ginebra San Miguel.
To be exact, he likened it to the mantras of Pacman's fight to Jessie Vargas the professional basketball team: “(K)umbaga sa Ginebra, 'never-say-die' dapat! 'Ika nga po ng tema ng laban ni Senator Manny Pacquiao: resurgence. Babalik po tayo. Babangon at babawing muli tayo. Marami pa tayong ibubuga. Pansamantala lamang po ito. Abangan ang susunod na kabanata!”
(Like Ginebra, it should be 'never-say-die!' Like the theme of Senator Manny Pacquiao’s fight: resurgence. We will return. We will rise and return. We still have a lot to show for. This is only temporary. Watch out for the next chapter!)
It has been five months since the former senator filed an election protest against his adversary, Vice President Leni Robredo, whom he accused of electoral fraud.
As he waits his for pending protest, Marcos will be pulling off a Mar Roxas - going around the country to personally give his thanks to his supporters.
“And so, I roam around and personally convey my appreciation of their trust in me. Kahit ako ay 'off-duty' nang pansamantala, ito ay aking ginagawa dahil kailangan kong tumanaw ng utang na loob sa sambayanang Pilipino,” he shared.
(And so, I roam around and personally convey my apprecation of their trust in me. Even though I am “off-duty” temporarily, I am doing this because I have to show my gratitude to the Filipino nation.)
Despite his loss, the president thinks otherwise - President Rodrigo Duterte introduced him as the country's prospective vice-president if he wins the protest.
Although people have their divided opinion of Marcos, he has proved that he will still pursue his political career despite the failure he has encountered recently.
Just like this woman who has been paralyzed, an unbroken spirit powers through everything.
