Airport staff returns pouch with over P100K cash

- An honest airport staff returned a pouch containing more than P100,000 cash and credit cards

- Wheelchair attendant Valiente Namion immediately surrendered the pouch he found to Manila International Airport Authority's Lost and Found Section

- Because of his honesty, Namion was praised by the airport's general manager and he is expected to receive a certificate of appreciation

It was such a heart-warming moment when an airport wheelchair attendant at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 did not took advantage of a pouch he found containing more than P100,000 pesos in cash.

Wheelchair attendant Valiente Namion might have his personal needs but he surely values integrity as he immediately turned over the pouch to Manila International Airport Authority's Lost and Found Section.

According to Airport Police Reynon Flores of the Airport Police Intelligence and Investigative Division, the honest airport staff found the baggage conveyor 2 of NAIA Terminal 1 on Friday morning.

Namion did not let himself be blinded of the transparent pouch containing a total of P102,457.70 cash and assorted credit cards. The identification of the owner was found in the credit cards which belong to the name of Magnolia Rosa Antonino, Nueva Ecija 4th district representative

ABS CBN news report stated: "Airport authorities were in the process of contacting the pouch's owner when Wendell Tagapulot, political affairs officer from the Office of Congresswoman Magnolia Antonino-Nadres, showed up to report the missing pouch."

After the verification process, the pouch was handed over to the the Congresswoman's political affairs officer.

Namion, after showing an inspiring attitude, was praised by the Airport General Manager Ed Monreal for his honesty.

According to Namion, the reason why keeping the pouch never crossed his mind is he believes in karma.

The airport staff is expected to receive a certificate of appreciation from the MIAA.
