After rumors of cancellation, postponement and a lot more that sent jitters to many Miss U fans, the Department of Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo has now revealed that the final date and venue of the pageant will be at the Mall of Asia Arena, January 30, 5:00 a.m.
The announcement came in a recently held press conference on Thursday.

According to Teo, the Miss Universe Organization, through Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach, has announced that the 2017 pageant will be in the Philippines.
“The Miss Universe 2016 in Manila is brought to you by the DOT, MUO, LCS Group of Companies ...in partnership with Okada Manila, SM Group of Companies, Solar Ent Corp, our broadcast partner,” said the announcement.
Teo was very proud of Pia Wurtzbach and she described the anticipated event as a “proud moment for all Filipinos” considering that the country would be witnessing Pia take her final wall and pass the crown to her successor, all done in her home country.
Teo also asked the support of media partners, sponsors and everyone else, encouraging Filipinos to give the contestants and other foreigners a warm welcome.
Maxine Medina, 25, will be representing the Philippines in the pageant.
So far, three Filipinas have won the much-coveted Miss Universe crown – Pia Wurtzbach (2015), Margie Moran (1973) and Gloria Diaz (1969).
