Yeng Constantino expresses respect and admiration mixed with sadness over husband Victor "Yan" Asuncion's decision to sacrifice his music career for their future family.
In an interview on Tuesday, the singer explains why her husband decided to leave his music career.
“Si Yan po, marami pong sinacrifice bilang artist. Nung naging kami, he knew na kailangan niya i-let go 'yun and suportahan ako sa ginagawa ko and for him to go to a different direction which is business,” she said.
“Of course sa heart niya, he wants to support me, 'yung family namin. Minsan, siguro hindi ko nao-open masyado sa kanya, pero nalulungkot ako kasi he’s really a good songwriter, napakagaling na musician," she added.
The Hawak-Kamay hitmaker also expressed the hope that Yan would someday be able to go back to making music - writing and recording songs.
Asuncion, a worship director at a Victory Christian Fellowship church and a former band member, is Constantino's first and only boyfriend.
The two surprised everyone by announcing their engagement within 8 months of the relationship, and eventually tied the knot on February 14, 2015.
