Robin Padilla had asked the help of ABS-CBN’s executive Linggit Tan in acquiring a US Visa so that he could be with his wife, Mariel, during childbirth.
Mariel Rodriguez Padilla is an American citizen and has gone to the US to deliver their baby this November.

Due to the previous conviction of Robin for illegal possession of firearms, he is now facing some obstacles in acquiring his US visa.
Because of this, he sought the help of ABS-CBN, which the latter also didn’t refuse.
Tan even wrote a letter for the US consul general to reconsider Robin’s application, providing some evidentiary documents that would prove that Padilla is not a risk to the US government.

One of the supporting documents that Padilla attached to her letter to the consul was the contract of Padilla with ABS-CBN, which would end on November 2017.
She also mentioned in her letter the “good nature” of the actor. She also said that he has a “kind heart.”

She likewise emphasized in her letter that if Robin is given the chance to visit Mariel and ensure her safety during delivery, he will be coming home to the Philippines to perform his obligation under the ABS-CBN contract.
