A controversial video of two MMDA traffic enforcers allegedly abusing, bullying and bribery a motorcycle rider who violated a traffic rule has gone viral.
The video shows the motorcycle rider complaining to a group of policemen about the two traffic enforcers who were allegedly bullying him.
According to the rider, the enforcers wanted him to pay a bribe. When he refused to pay the bribe, the enforcers allegedly threatened to give him a ticket for every traffic violation possible.
“SHARE po natin para makarating sa ating mahal na pangulong DUTERTE. Nanita, mangongotong, nung pumalag ang tao, lahat ng violation nilagay nah,” the netizen who shared the video posted.
(Let us share this video to our beloved President Duterte. They apprehended the rider and told him to pay a bribe and when he complained, they wrote him a ticket for every violation.)
Other netizens slammed the enforcers for their alleged malpractice against the rider.
“Kung ano ung violation dapat un lang ilagay, pag sumagot ng di maganda ang motorista, lagyan ng arrogant. Hinde ung porket na ngangatuwiran lang e, tatadtarin muna ng violation,” a social media user said.
(The traffic enforcers should not make up traffic violations for the motorist. If the motorist is aggressive, they can also penalize him for his hostility towards the enforcers. But they cannot issue tickets if the motorist is just trying to reason with them.)
