In pursuit of helping Filipino children to get education, an organization in the Cebu city built a daycare center in a not-so-ordinary place, which is really not child-friendly.
The Society of Divine Word Action for Nurturing Children and Environment started the project of building a daycare center inside a cemetery in Cebu City because of the increasing number of families and children living in Carreta Cemetery.
The cemetery is one of the oldest cemeteries in Cebu city.
A classroom was built out of a ‘museleo’ or a stone building that houses the graves so the little children can make use of them.
Many parents were expressing their gratitude to the organization because of their effort to give their children the opportunity to study.
Many cemeteries in the Philippines are already being resided by many poor families. They are taking advantage of the ‘free shelter’ that this place provides.
Looks like these children don’t need a scarier place to have their Trick or Treat party anymore because their school alone is full of scary already!
