- Julio Diaz's character, George Hernandez, was revived and is now in prison, with Tomas Tuazon
-The veteran actor, despite getting sick and going through surgery in May, had appeared just as healthily evil as his villainous character in the TV series
Just days after his alleged "death" swept the country into gloom, veteran actor Julio Diaz (Mariano de Leon Regaliza) has returned to the showbiz industry with his trademark villain role in full focus.
Julio Diaz had made a comeback in "Ang Probinsyano" on Thursday, October 27, and showed up portraying the character of George Hernandez, a criminal and hold-upper.
The revived George Hernandez character has appeared as an inmate sharing the cell with Tomas Tuazon (Albert Martinez), Joaquin (Arjo Atayde)'s charismatic father with a dark secret.
Best known for the 1993 award-winning epic "Sakay," Diaz is succintly remembered in "Ang probinsyano" for the top-of-a-moving-train fight scene with the lead character's twin brother, Ador (played by Coco Martin).
He also starred in more than 50 films including the “Flor Contemplacion Story” (1995), “Serbis” (2008) and “Kinatay” (2009).
Aside from his alleged "death" last October 23, Diaz had also survived a stroke in April and a brain surgery in May.
