Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa announces in a press briefing that he has turned over to President Rodrigo Duterte a list of 30 celebrities involved in the drug trade.
According to the police chief, the President has a watch-list different from the list that the PNP's list of 30 celebrities procured from revelations of celebrity drug suppliers earlier arrested.
“Yung sa NCRPO na sinubmit sa akin around 30 celebrities,. Baka iba pa yun (kay Presidente). Mas marami yung kay Presidente,” dela Rosa said.
(The list submitted by NCRPO to me has around 30 celebrities,. Maybe that's a different one [that of the President's] The President's list includes more.)
The police chief also explained that the public announcement of names in the list is entirely dependent on the President's discretion, but the police will still make moves to arrest on the showbiz personalities who made it to the list.
"So hintayin na lang natin kung i-announce ni Presidente 'yun or ayaw niyang i-announce. We'll still initiate our moves," Dela Rosa said.
(So let us just wait if the President will announce that or if he does not want to. We'll still initiate our moves.)
