Hailing from Manchester, John has worked in a food Court, the Orient food court in Trafford Center for many years. Customers can always expect a friendly greeting and excellent service with a smile.
He is very popular with the customers in the food court. One of his regular customers, Akiem Mundell, posted a comment on Facebook which has led to the community digging in their pockets to fund a lovely holiday for him.
Akiem, in his post, commented on John’s attitude to his work. He was always happy to serve and managed his work well in the face of his advanced years. He feels that under that smile is a possible struggle to complete his tasks which include cleaning the tables and the floor.
John makes all the guests welcome. He does his best to keep the place clean, neat and tidy even picking up after messy schoolboys. This is all done with a smile and a cheery remark or two.
Paula Deane was so struck with the comments in the Facebook post that she immediately set up a fund to send John on the best possible holiday. The fund sits at £2,600 so far and the target is £3000. There are still 29 days to go so she feels confident that they will easily make their target and very possibly bypass it.
Paula says that John is one of the sweetest and kindest men that she has ever met. He is always cheery and has a kind word for everybody he serves.
