34-year-old Jonathan Smith was arrested after his mother Jennifer told police officers that he attacked her with her potato salad and chicken as she sat down to eat dinner after a confrontation in their home. The Florida man now is facing a domestic battery charge.
According to police report, the officers who arrested Smith several blocks from the residence in Bradenton noted that the man appeared to be intoxicated.
Jennifer also told police that she yelled at him to stop but he continued to throw food at her and after covering her with food, Smith allegedly pushed her to the ground, pulled her across the floor by her legs, and spitted on her.
Smith, who works as a pallet builder, fled the home on his bicycle when his mother threatened to call 911. Once police arrived to the house they found the woman with food all over her and in her hair.
In addition to the misdemeanor battery count, Smith is also facing a probation violation charge stemming from a prior felony conviction.
