The real horrors of war just can be seen by the soldiers and the civilians that live in the war zone. This is the case of the citizens of Mosul where Iraqi and Kurdish forces, backed by a Western coalition of states including the U.S., are busy trying to take back the city from the so-called Islamic State.
Islamic State has controlled the Iraqi city for two years and the battle is expected to be the largest in Iraq since the 2003 U.S.-led invasion that toppled Dictator Saddam Hussein.
In these pictures you can see the real face of war and what the 1.5 million people that still live in the city are dealing with every day.
After two years of arm conflict, hundreds of thousands people have fled Mosul looking security, food and proper health care.
