It isn't everyday that you find someone sitting in a toilet of a house on sale. There are enough public toilets around, right? Wrong—a 23-year-old man in Tavares, Florida doesn't think so.
Corey Lee Ramsey was found sitting comfortably in a toilet of such a house after being reported by neighbour. When asked what he was doing, Ramsey startled the neighbour and the officer who had responded to the call—he explained that he was thinking of buying the house, but had to try the toilet first.
Clever idea, isn't it? Well, not really, as the police charged him with burglary. This wasn't entirely surprising, considering that Ramsey had been seen walking suspiciously around the house, finally entering it and not coming out.
Ramsey certainly tried to sound convincing, as he added that he had been reading home buying guides. It would be interesting to read the particular buying guide that recommended trying out the toilet.
Nevertheless, it turns out Ramsey was "house shopping" without financial backing, as he failed to raise a $10,000 bond to make bail.
Never mind the house that was on the market for $299,450 and whose toilet he was sampling. The county jail must be suiting him just fine—for free.
