Not all hopes in humanity are lost after all. A police officer stopped his police car to, got off and stopped traffic to help a koala bear to cross a highway. The officer didn’t know he was being recorded while he was doing this amazing act of devotion to life of others species.
The top cop is a member of the Queensland police named Constable John Franklin. He stopped his car in the middle of the way to help an adorable koala to cross the road.
This happened the afternoon of last Friday while the koala was checking if the grass was greener on the other side. The police officer was patrolling the Peak Downs Highway in Mackay when he took the opportunity to become a koala hero by gently stopping the traffic until the bear could finish going across the street.
Constable Franklin said that he noticed that the koala looked like it wanted to cross the road but was obviously hesitant of passing cars. So in that moment full of determination, he hopped out of the police car and help the little animal to get the other side. The little coaxing koala bear took off and hasted to the other side of the road as fast as he could. 'It’s like he was doing sprint practice for a beep test,' Constable Franklin said.
This officer honors the police motto of to serve and protect while taking into consideration the need of this harmless little fellow. This time, it wasn’t a chicken but a koala bear who wanted to cross the street.
