- 16-year-old Andrew Frye was found almost dead in an Ohio motel room where his mother and grandmother were having a heroin party.
- 32-year-old Andrew’s mother Heather shared drugs with her son but didn’t want to be present at the moment he was doing it.
- Andrew went to a bathroom and later was found on the floor. Ambulance was already unable to help him as it was already late.
Both mother and grandmother were high on a mixture of heroin and fentanyl (painkiller). No one was surprised that when doctors arrived to the scene it was already late, the boy died. Two women even tried to hide their drugs and needles before the police arrived instead of helping the boy. Now both of them will face nine years in prison each for drug possession and unintended murder.
Andrew didn’t live with his mother, they were only meeting for weekends sometimes. He was raised in the family of his great aunt, Tammy Smith, together with her three children. She has adopted him when he was a child.
Tammy was found heartbroken as Andrew has became to her like her own son long ago and this is a big loss to her and her family. Tammy couldn’t expect him doing that and was lost in guessing why did Andrew go for trying drugs. Why he didn’t resist this negative impact of his “weekend mom.”
