Sometimes mom’s intuition works even better than any complicated machine. It happened with Lilly Munro from Melbourne, Australia. In her 24th week of pregnancy she felt that something was wrong. She couldn’t shake it off, so accompanied by her fiancé Brodie Moles they hurried to the hospital.
During the ultrasound it turned out that her feeling was right. She received the terrible news about her unborn son whom she had already called Lennox.
Lilly Munro and Brodie Moles had to make some really fast decisions. Here is their picture:
Doctor told them that their unborn son had a heart complication so they had to induce birth immediately. Even though Lilly was only 24 weeks along and Lennox's chances of survival were 50/50. His weight was only about 1.8 pounds!
This tiny baby had to be placed in a sort of plastic bag to increase his chances of survival. It would prevent his body temperature from falling too low.
A little later he was hooked up to hoses and tubes. Can you imagine how hard it was for the new parents to watch their baby in such condition?
Lilly left her job to take care of Lennox in the hospital, and Brodie took over responsibilities at home. He also took care of Lilly's three children.
This newborn baby had to stay in the hospital for 111 days. But it was worth it!
Finally, Lennox was able to come home. Lilly said that if was possible only thanks to the doctors and nurses who were “above and beyond"!
He has nearly nine pounds of weight now and everything is fine! Just look at this happy family!
It is amazing what a long way Lilly, Brodie, and Lennox had to go through! But they made it helping each other!
