Aboard a Philippine Airlines flight, an OFW passenger sat weeping on the window seat after a miserable fate she suffered from her employers. Unfortunately, she went home to the Philippines with NOTHING. Although she will reunite with her family, she failed to fulfill her promise of a better life to them.
When the crew members of the PAL flight learned about the situation of an OFW passenger, everyone decided to help. In act of kindness, everyone shared donations and the crew gave the collected money to the woman. The OFW was not identified and she was advised to seek immediate help from Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).
A fellow passenger named Jrm Jayjay who uploaded the video on her Facebook account said that the unfortunate OFW was a native from Cagayan Valley. The stewardess thanked everyone in the middle of the video.
According to its website, OWWA provides services that OFWs can avail the On-site and In-country Welfare Case Management (WCM). For OFW families requesting for help in locating their loved ones abroad or the ones who lost contact with them they can avail the On-site services. Meanwhile, for family member who wants to seek legal assistance for their family members or these can be those who are involved in any labor-related case abroad can avail the In-country services.
