A tragic incident killed at least one and left more than 20 others injured when several fireworks stores exploded on Wednesday in Bocaue, Bulacan.
According to Supt. Charlie Cabradilla, 10 commercial establishments were damaged and six vehicles were destroyed in not less than three explosions that took place at thefireworks market in Barangay Binang First.
Due to the incident, netizens demanded for a firecracker ban as the Christmas and New Year season is approaching, the months when firecrackers are most in demand.
One Facebook user said: "Dapat lang na alisin na at ipag bawal ang paputok.sa dec.sure wala ng paputok mag iba na kayo ng negosyo.kung ano ginawa sa davao yan din ang gagawin ni digong."
Another Facebook user commented: "Under Duterte rules in Davao, bawal ang mga paputok... Malamang iimplement niya ito nationwide lalo na kong hindi pa rin responsable ang mga tao sa mga aksidente tulad nito! Isa na rin ito sa nksanayan ko mula naninirahan na ako sa Davao, may kalungkutan man kapag walang paputok lalo na kapag pasko at new year... pero garantisado din naman ang seguridad ng kumonidad.."
