- NAPC experienced backlash after they posted a derogatory statement against Vice President Leni Robredo and Agot Isidro
- Due to the outburst from VP’s supporters, NAPC issued an apology on its page
- It is also officially denying the post, stating that they don’t know how it was posted on their page
The strong words hurled by Agot Isidro against Pres. Rodrigo Duterte have drawn flak, obviously against the supporters of the President. While there are those who criticized Agot, there were also those who stood by her.
One organization however, the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC), headed by no other than former Bayan Muna Party List Representative Liza Maza, dipped its hands into the controversy and posted truly distasteful comments unbecoming of such an organization which seeks to uphold the welfare and plight of the poor.

The post of NAPC was “Ang pagkakapareho ni Agot Isidro at VP Leni Robredo—takot silang magutom!”
After the post, the organization became the subject of criticism from Vice President Leni’s supporters and those who share the same sentiments with Agot.
With the unexpected backlash, the NAPC issued a formal apology for its distasteful comments. Its post was dated October 10, Monday.
In the published apology, the NAPC reiterated that they don’t have the intention to issue such a thoughtless statement against Vice President Leni Robredo and Agot Isidro.
Based on the words in the apology, they said that it wasn’t clear how was it possible that the statement got through.

They also posted some sort of a disclaimer, denying accountability for the said post.
“Certain distasteful statements have been posted in our Facebook page that in no way reflect NAPC's views or values,” said the apology.
They said that they are sincerely apologizing to VP Leni and to Agot, and also to the public.
As what they said, they’re in the process of investigating the whole incident.
