A video of a man getting knocked out cold by his opponent during a street boxing match and reportedly dying soon afterwards has gone viral, with many netizens angered that such games are allowed in many barangays nationwide.

“Hangga't walang naaaksidente sa ganitong palaro sa bawat barangay hindi pa din sila titigil, ayan may sampol na sana managot yung nagpasimuno ng ganitong palaro sa kanilang barangay. RIP (Rest in peace),” the video uploader posted, indicating that the man who got knocked out died after receiving the forceful blow.

(These barangay games will not be stopped until an accident happens. Now here is a sample, the ones who masterminded these games in the barangay should pay for what happened.)

The video shows the man in a green shirt missing a right hook and getting counter-punched in the process. He immediately lost consciousness and dropped to the floor like a bag of potatoes.

Many netizens noticed that the man’s head hit the ground badly as he fell down.

“Ba't ninyo pinagsuntukan sa semento? Tumama ulo sa semento noong bumagsak,” a netizen wrote.

(Why did you allow them to fight on a surface with cement? His head hit the cement when he fell down.)

Another online user said that he personally knew the man who was knocked out and claimed that the man indeed died after getting punched hard.

“Namatay po yan agad agad... Kababata ko yan kaklase ko din taga antique province… RIP amigo Rudio Legaspi,” the netizen claimed.

(He died immediately. We grew up together, he was my classmate in Antique province.)

Other online users advised people who want to try out boxing to always wear a headgear for protection.
