A mentally-ill man pummeled his paralyzed brother to death with a stick and a coconut grater. The man told the police that "voices" told him to kill his brother.

The unnamed suspect reportedly had an argument with his younger brother Muhammad Azwan Wahab, 26, who was lying on the bed. The man said that “you have given mother a hard time”.

Following the argument, the two was broken apart by their mother, Che Piah Shafie, 66. The mentally-challenged man went out to buy some cigarettes on the sundry shop. Sensing that something is amiss, Che and a neighbor, Rokiah Abdullah, 54, followed him to take him home.

Once they are home, the man bludgeoned his brother with a stick and a coconut grater. Of course, his younger brother was unable to move and suffered severe blows in different parts of his body resulting to his immediate death.

The mother and their neighbor tried to stop him, but they were unsuccessful as the suspect is bigger than them. The suspect's sister quickly ran out of the house fearing for her child's safety.

Abdullah tried to seek help from the villagers, but the suspect threw a brick at her and proceeded to beat her with the brick repeatedly. The man's mother managed to suppress him and tied him to a jackfruit tree with a sarong until the villagers and police arrived to arrest him.

It was revealed that the suspect has been undergoing psychiatric treatment and has been taking medications for the last four years. Family members revealed that the suspect ran amok before, but calmed down after taking his medications.

The suspect was brought to the police station and evidences (brick, stick, coconut grater, and iron bar) were also brought. However, it is probable that the man will be convicted because of his history of mental illness.
