During the Mass and burial of Miriam Santiago at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in Cubao, Quezon City, actress Heart Evangelista delivered an emotional and heartbreaking eulogy for the late politician.
The star described the senator as her fairy godmother, hero, mother and best friend.
Heart also credited the late public servant for helping her become more optimistic with life and with her dreams. She also applauded her friend for guiding her and making her feel more confident about herself.

The late senator was the one who made it possible for Senator Chiz Escudero and the actress to meet and get to know each other. The couple was then married on February 15, 2015.
She also thanked Santiago for giving her plenty of time to bond with each other despite the latter’s busy schedule as a politician.
Heart also thanked the late leader for making her feel loved and special during their time as close friends. She also expressed her gratitude to the senator’s husband for allowing Miriam to spend time with her.
Despite her great heartache in losing one of her best friends, the actress said that she is finding comfort in the thought that they will see each other again in the afterlife.
