A video of Senator Leila De Lima has once again trended online days after the song Pen Pineapple Apple Pen (PPAP) became viral.
The video technically is not De Lima’s real-life version of the song. Rather it is another creation of some individuals who seem to have a lot of time on their hands.
With 33,794 views 4 hours after it was posted, it is sure to garner more views in the next days.
The original video shows De Lima dancing at what seems to be a party. She is grooving with other people in the party. If you look at the video closely, you will notice that the actions De Lima and her group are doing are that of the “Macarena” song.
Three other videos were also posted on YouTube showing De Lima’s PPAP versions.
One of the versions shows a mash up of De Lima dancing in a party while other parts show De Lima during his press conference shortly after the NBP Riot.
The other version shows De Lima’s whole-body photo photoshopped in a room. It looks like it is in one of the rooms where the hearings are held. The edited photo shows De Lima carrying a pineapple on one hand and a bottle on the other. The video only lasts 9 seconds.
The senator has been the subject of many memes and edited photos after she was involved in a series of events in the government, including being ousted as the chairperson of the Senate’s Committee on Justice and Human Rights. She has also walked out on Senator Alan Cayetano’s privilege speech and gave her own speech the next day.
She also held several press conferences regarding matters that are related to the EJK hearing and drug proliferation in the NBP. One of her most used and abused video is that of her press conference after the NBP Riot.
