Following the news of the demise of the feisty Miriam Defensor-Santiago and her famous acid tongue, came the pouring of sympathetic words for her mourning family.
On the first night of her wake at the Immaculate Conception in Cubao, Quezon City, let us look at the Senator's face and remember how well-lived her life had been as she struggled to enliven even the most boring of hearings - the Miriam Defensor-Santiago way.
1. Come and get me (2001)
In one of her TV appearances, former Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago has been seen passionately waving around her 9mm Sig Sauer as she pace her office, following the news that those involved in Edsa III will be summoned in court.
2. I lied... I lied... (2001/2004)
The late senator shows off that like the human that she is, mistakes are inevitable. In fact, it was, perhaps, in one of her most prominent appearance when she was quoted as saying that she will jump off an airplane if then-President Joseph Estrada gets arrested. In a typical Murphy's Law way, Estrada got arrested shortly after the statement's release and the ex-Senator was quick to admit that she had, in fact, lied at the time.
In 2003, the ex-Senator son killed himself and the Senator told the public that she will be leaving politics. The following year, she's back, in an apparent show of her infamous "I lied" statement.
3. Mommy D. vs Miriam D. (2011)
"I'm speechless. That's my comment."
Santiago, in an interview following Mommy Dionisia's reaction to the Senator's harsh words regarding Manny Pacquiao's comments on RH bill.
4. God does not exist. (2012)
"This God is an underachiever. He does not do what He's supposed to be doing."
This is the conclusion gleaned by the late ex-Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago in her quest for answers following the death of her son, Alexander Robert in 2003. In an interview with Korina Sanchez, Miriam was heard saying that, if she is the God, she'll be doing a better job.

5. Kung ayaw mo pakinggan, e di umalis ka sa korte! (2012)
"You cannot make those contemptuous gestures in front of a judge and get away with it."
Vitaliano Aguirre II, the Justice Secretary of the Duterte administration had once been on the receiving end of Miriam's wrath. Apparently, then private-lawyer Aguirre decided that he doesn't want to hear any word out of the senator's mouth so he covered his ears and ignored the cameras.
6. Mas mahirap maging senador. (2016)
"Kung minsan nilalabanan n'ya ang lahat ng senador laban sa kanya. Hindi kamukha ng Presidente na ang lahat sa paligid n'ya nag-a-allelujah sa kanya."
One of the most recent appearance of the late Senator had been at the 2016 Presidential debates, and this when Miriam explained how being a senator is sometimes even more difficult than being a president.
7. I am the standard.
"Those that like me, raise your hand. Those that don't, raise your standards."
In a typical Miriam way of talking, this line surely seems like something that she says on a daily basis. Surely, no one would argue with the esteemed ex-Senator.
If these aren't nearly enough, here are some of her famous one-liners that will test your IQ levels.
