- A man suffering from debilitating Parksinson's is advocating the use of medical marijuna
- The video shows how without the medication his body is shaking uncontrolably
- But after taking a small dosage of marijuana it seems he is in total control fo his body and he says that it is a great relief
Ian Frizell, 55, has been suffering from Parkinsons since 1995. He has been diagnosed with the malady in 2011 and since then he has suffered debilitating symptoms.
The man underwent deep brain stimulation surgery this year and the device allows him to mask much of Parkinson’s symptoms.
To demonstrate how debilitating the illness is he switches the device off. Instantly his arms and legs are shaking without much control.
He then says that he will now self-medicate with a dose of marijuana and return in 20 to 30 minutes.
The video cuts 20 minutes forward and now Ian is sitting and he seems completely in control and comfortable. He says: ‘It’s now 20 minutes since I self-medicated with approximately 30mg of marijuana, which is just a small pinch, taken using a vaporizer. And you can see that my tremor has calmed down significantly. In fact, it’s almost completely under control.’
He adds: ‘The sense of relief is overwhelming.’
