After bagging the title Miss Universe 2015, the Filipina beauty has done it again after this year’s Philippine delegate to the Miss United Continents was crowned as the new winner of the beauty pageant last Saturday held at the Palacio de Cristal in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
Filipina Jeslyn Santos, 23-years old, topped 27 other contestants from different countries all over the world such as the United States, Puerto Rico, and Mexico, among others.
According to the official site of the pageant, the contest has been held in Guayaquil, Ecaudor since 2006. Moreover, 21 official beauty queens from the American continent who participated in the pageant were previous contestants, finalists, or winners of Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International, and Miss Earth.
Due to the desire of pageant director and owner Maria del Carmen de Aguayo to expand the competition worldwide, the pageant was changed from Miss American Continent to Miss United Continent.
Santos is a Binibining Pilipinas candidate this year. With a height of 5’7, she is a woman everyone looks up to in her hometown in Hagonoy, Bulacan.
She is a Broadcast Communication graduate and a very athletic woman who loves to play volleyball. She was the team captain of her team.
Before Santos was crowned Miss United Continents Philippines 2016, she also flaunted her beauty and intelligence in Miss World Peace 2015 and in two Binibining Pilipinas competitions.
The victory of the Filipina beauty queen is truly important for the Philippines since Miss United Continents has always been dominated by Latin Americans.
The crown given to Santos was designed by Jewelry Designer Christian Quintero and is based on the concept of the five continents.
