Crispin Jasareno, a janitor who works for the House of Representatives, has become an internet sensation after returning P19,500 in cash to a Congressman from Cebu.
Cebu sixth district Representative Jonas Cortes accidentally left the cash on his seat inside the Batasang Pambansa’s plenary hall and Jasanero was the person who found it.

Instead of taking an interest on the amount which could have greatly helped in providing for his family’s needs, Jasareno’s honesty and integrity triumphed as he immediately returned the money to its rightful owner.
The appreciative Congressman then wrote a letter to Secretary General Cesar Pareja to ask him to recognize the janitor’s gestures.
Netizens applauded Jasareno’s honesty and Cortes’ efforts to recognize the janitor.
“Great example itong si Sir Crispin it just shows na ang kabutihang loob ay walang pinipiling estado sa buhay, biruin mo 19 thou napulot nya malaking bagay na yun para sa ating mga ordinaryong mamayan na tulad ni sir crispin pero hindi nya pinag interesan dahil hindi ito sa kanya,” a netizen said.
(Sir Crispin is a great example for others. It just shows that people from all walks of life is capable of showing integrity. That 19,000 cash he found is a big amount for ordinary citizens like sir Crispin but he was not interested in it.)
Other netizens urged the janitor to keep being honest despite not being rewarded with material things.
“Keep up being good and you will be surely blessed, maybe not by man but by our God,” an online user pointed out.
