- The Plan B, according to Cayetano, involves the ousting of President Duterte so that Robredo could replace him
- Robredo said that the President and her shares a good working relationship
Despite the allegations that the Liberal party is planning to regain control of the Malacañang, Vice President Leni Robredo denied such allegations and said that she is maintaining a very good working relationship with President Rodrigo Duterte.
During a press briefing at the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC) held in Makati last Friday, Robredo said the accusations made by Senator Alan Peter Cayetano during the Senate inquiry on extrajudicial killings are not true and she is hoping that it would not ruin her relationship with the President.
When Cayetano was questioning Edgar Matobato, a confessed hitman and former member of the Davao Death Squad, the Senator raised the alleged “Plan B” of the Liberal Party.
This plan, according to Cayetano, involves ousting Duterte so Robredo would be the President and the Liberal Party would be once again control the Malacañang.
“Tingin ko very unfair ‘yon, kasi ang pagkakasabi parang ino-operate na matanggal ang ating pangu para ako ‘yong pumalit. Kami ni Pangulong Duterte very good ang aming working relationship,” said Robredo.
(I think it’s very unfair because the way it was said sounded like it is being planned that the President will be removed from his position and I will replace him. The President and I have a very good working relationship.)
She added, “Sana hindi naman masira ‘yong ganoon. Iyong mga pangangailangan ng assignment ko, nandiyan iyon whole heart and support ng ating Pangulo.”
(I hope the relationship won’t be destroyed. The needs of my assignment have the whole heart and support of our President.)
Moreover, Robredo said that she always thanks the President for his support.
“Every chance na I could get, sinasabi ko sa kanya na makakaasa siya sa aking suporta. Sinasabi ko kung may gusto siya sa aking ipagawa, huwag mag-atubiling sabihan lang ako,” she explained.
(Every chance that I could get, I always remind him that he can rely on me for support. I also ask him if he wants me to do anything and not to think twice if ever there is.)
Robredo also said that the Filipino community is obligated to support the President and his administration.
