Angelica Panganiban stands by Duterte

Kapamilya star Angelica Panganiban joins the roster of celebrities showing their unwavering support to Davao City Mayor and presidential candidate Rodrigo Duterte. Angelica posted on Tuesday, April 19, two Instagram posts as a Duterte supporter.

The first photo of a mug with Duterte's name bears a caption saying

"Walang krimen, walang magnanakaw, walang kababuyan kung ang namumuno ng bansa natin ay hindi natatakot ayusin at linisin ang Pilipinas. Babae ako at ang Pangulo ko ay si Duterte. ?? (Thank you byaheng DU30 for yesterday. Mabuhay kayo.)

(No crimes, no thieves, and no obscenities if the leader of our country isn not afraid of cleaning and organizing the Philippines. I am a woman and my president is Duterte.)"

The actress also recounted her experience while she was in Bacolod and her chance encounter with Duterte's daughter Sara. She tells this story on her second Instagram post shows the cup being used by a convenience store to conduct their own poll for the presidential candidates.

Angelica apparently lost her Duterte cup but she was thankful that it was immediately replaced by a mug coming directly from Duterte's camp. During her unexpected meeting with other supporters and Sara, she shared her happiness and how the team even invited her to lunch.

“Sa sandaling yun, lalo akong humanga sa kanya. To think na lahat ng kasama niya ay volunteers lang. Walang bayad. At kinataba ng puso ko ang sincere na pagkamay sa 'kin ni @indaysaraduterte at pinasalamatan ako sa pagsuporta sa kanila.Angelica said.

(At that moment, I admired him even more. To think that everyone with him are just volunteers. What warmed my heart is the sincerity I felt when @indaysaraduterte shook my hand and thanked me for supporting them.)"

The actress has been vocal in expressing support to the mayor's bid since last year and now that Duterte is in hot water for his remark about an Australian missonary's rape case in 1989.
